A good weekend for Chawton Park with three wins over the weekend.
On Saturday Chawton Park Ladies opened their Riversmeet campaign with a home fixture against Longmeadow. In a close encounter Chawton won two of the three available rinks and winning overall by 52 shots to 49. Top rink with a 16-12 win was the quartet of Tina Chambers, Cheryl Ekblad, Flo Ward and skip Janet Williamson.
On Sunday morning Chawton Park men had their opening Wessex League fixture against Palmerston (two rinks home, two away). All rinks had comfortable winning margins as Chawton secured a maximum sixteen point haul with an overall winning shot margin of 85-46. Top rink was a close run affair with two rinks winning by 10 shots and one by 8. But it was the rink of John Blair, Dom Flannigan, Nathan Beeson and Gary Starks who had a winning margin of 11 shots (27-16).
Sunday afternoon saw our Friendly side take on Old Basing in a 5 rink triples fixture. Chawton Park won four out of the five available rinks and winning overall 98 shots to 70. We had two top rinks who on the day could not be separated both winning 22-10 and both winning 13 of the 18 ends. The respective triples were Daphne Milton, Brian Craighill, Keith Arrowsmith-Oliver and Ann Pascoe, Patricia Brooks, Howard Carpenter.
