Mixed weekend for Chawton Park.

Chawton Park had a mixed weekend twice playing Desborough (Maidenhead). Saturday saw a Men’s Denny Cup fixture four rinks two home and two away and on Sunday in the Egham Trophy mixed four rinks two home and two away.

The Denny result went in Chawton’s way. Both sides won two rinks each but with the two losing rinks importantly restricting the wins to 1 and 2 shots respectively. The two successful Chawton rinks came out on top by a combined shot differential of 20 shots. A great team performance. Top rink with a score of 23-12 was David Cooper, Graham Sampson, Nathan Beeson and skip Mark Fyfield.

The Egham Trophy unfortunately was less successful with Desborough running out winners by 73-56. Chawton had one winning rink of the four on offer with Tina Chambers, Sandy Crocker, James Shillingford and Gary Starks winning 19-18.

The Ladies Yetton trophy match against Palmerston was also held on Saturday with both sides winning two rinks each but despite a large win by the top rink of Tina Chambers, Kate Binfield, Angie Knight and Janet Williamson 28-8 Chawton lost by 5 shots overall 67-72.

In the Mason Trophy Chawton Park received a walkover as our opponents were unable to raise a side. In the next round we will play Loddon Vale on Friday 6th December.
