Success in Riversmeet, Wessex and Friendly.

Chawton Park had four teams in action over the weekend. Results as follows.

On Saturday our Ladies travelled to Five Rivers in the Riversmeet League and won by the slenderest of margins 49-48. Chawton Park won two of the three rinks with top rink being Lesley Johnson, Patricia Brooks, Flo Ward and skip Janet Williamson who won 19-10. The overall points score in favour of Chawton Park was 8-2.

Our one loss of the weekend came in the Bramley fixture against East Dorset. Losing out by 84-69 on shots with a points difference of 7-3. The two away rinks were able to secure the 3 points for Chawton Park by way of 1 point for our winning rink (George Roberts, Gary.C Johnson, Dave Atwell and John Kellow) who won by 20 shots to 15 and 2 points for the two combined away rinks score of 40-39.

On Saturday afternoon our Friendly team hosted Atherley in a six rink triples match up and registered a win by 130 shots to 74. Top rink with a winning score of 34-7 were Norma Craighill, Len Holton and John Milton.

On Sunday we played Banister Park in a two rinks home, two rinks away fixture in the Wessex League winning three of the four rinks and overall by 79 shots to 54. This equated to a 14 points to 2 victory. Top rink with a 24-7 win was the quartet of John Blair, Dave Thurgood, Mark Fyfield and Gary Starks. After two games Chawton Park currently lead the Coastal Division of the Wessex league by 2 points.
