Two Wins for Chawton Park

Chawton Park concluded their Riversmeet campaign for another season with a maximum Ten point win over Loddon Vale. Unfortunately the win seems unlikely to secure the title as second placed Palmerston who play their last game this coming Saturday are believed (at the time of going to press) to only require Four points from their last game to secure the title. Back to Saturday, Chawton Park held a commanding lead at the halfway stage 44-18 but were behind on one of the three rinks. But a determined second half saw Chawton Park secure the win on all three rinks and by 75-32 overall. Top rink on the day with a 36-10 win was the rink of Tina Chambers, Kate Fyfield, Claire Flannigan and Janet Williamson.

On Sunday Chawton Park’s weekend Friendly team entertained Oakley OBC and perhaps exploiting their opponents lack of indoor experience won on all Six rinks and by 135-60 overall. The best rink of the day were the quartet of Jan Northwood, Noel Thompson, Angie Knight and Dave Goddard 31-8 winners.
