Results Round Up 1st/2nd February

Saturday saw Chawton Park take on Loddon Vale in the Bramley (two rinks Home, two Away) after ten ends Chawton Park held a nine shot lead which they were able to maintain to the end, finally triumphing by 88 shots to 77 and winning three out of the four rinks. Chawton Park took Seven Points and Loddon Vale Three Points. Top rink of the day was shared between the away rink of Danny Brown, Gary M Johnson, Reece Graham and Ashley Nethercliffe 25-13 winners and the Home rink of Dave Thurgood, Graham Sampson, David Sims and Gary Starks 29-17 winners. With co-leaders at the start of the day Palmerston losing their fixture Chawton Park were able to go three points clear at the top of the table with two games remaining. Chawton Park’s penultimate fixture is against Banister Park this Saturday 8th February.

The Weekend Friendly team had a chastening experience on Sunday in an away fixture at West Berks (Newbury) losing all six of the mixed triple matches and overall by 112 shots to 66. Unfortunately no top rink to report but the ‘best losers’ were Angie Knight, Jan Northwood and Ian Webster who managed to keep the winning margin to just 3 shots. Special thanks to our hosts despite the big win we enjoyed a fun afternoon, good company and an excellent after match meal.
