2 out of 3 for Chawton Park

The Ladies Riversmeet team were away at Palmerston on Saturday. On a difficult day they lost by 63 shots to 24 and by two rinks to one. The winning rink comprising of Tina Chambers, Cheryl Ekblad, Kate Fyfield and Janet Williamson who won by 15 shots to 13.

In was a much closer affair in the Men’s Bramley match-up with Victory. With two rinks at home and two away Chawton Park were behind early on but gradually worked their way back into the match and in a tense finish won by 87-79 with Chawton Park acquiring Seven Points to Victory’s Three. Top Rink was the home rink of John Blair, Eric Phillips, Danny Brown and skip Nathan Beeson 26-10 winners. Chawton Park are now second in the league sharing the same points as leaders Palmerston but behind on shot difference. Chawton Park are back in action this Saturday in the Bramley Cup against third placed Loddon Vale.

Chawton Park’s friendly team took on Old Basing on Sunday afternoon. In a five rink mixed triples match. Chawton Park were 58 shots ahead as the teams broke for tea after 10 ends. Old Basing were able to consolidate over the second part of the match and after eighteen ends Chawton Park were 62 shot victors with the home side winning four of the five rinks. Top rink were the trio of Angie Knight, Len Holton and John Milton 35-7 winners.
