On Saturday Morning Chawton Park Ladies played at Home to Riverside in the Riversmeet League. In this three rink fixture Chawton Park won all three rinks winning by 74 shots to 34 and securing maximum points. The top rink was the four of Tina Chambers, Angie Knight, Kate Fyfield and skip Janet Williamson who won by 25 shots to 9. Chawton Park currently top the table on 42 points 2 ahead of their nearest challengers but having played one game more.
Saturday Morning also saw the Men in action, also against Riverside in the Bramley League. This fixture comprised of two rinks at Home and two Away. Chawton Park were successful in three of the four rinks winning by 94-60 and a points differential of 9-1. Top rink was the quartet of John Blair, Bill McEwan, David Sims and Nathan Beeson 31-19 victors. This win puts Chawton Park on top of the table on shot difference after three games with four games remaining to play.
Saturday Afternoon saw our Weekend Friendly team in action at Home to Victory. Victory were winners in the reverse fixture earlier in the season. This time it was the Home team who prevailed winning the Six mixed triples game by 113-104 shots. Top rink was the trio of Len Holton, Jim Bellis and Patricia Brooks who won by 28-7.
Onto Sunday Morning and the Men were in Wessex League action against Atherley with Two Rinks at Home and Two Away. Chawton Park were looking to consolidate their position at the top of the Coastal Region table, they started strongly and never relinquished their early lead finally winning by 83-50 winning all four rinks and taking the maximum 16 points on offer. Top rink was the away quartet of Robert Hutchinson, John Kellow, David Sims and skip Marr Carr 27-11 victors. With two games left to play Chawton Park hold a 20 point lead over their nearest challengers and are next in action on the 9th February v Dolphin.
