Weekend Round Up
Four Chawton Park teams were in action this weekend with positive results in three of the four.
On Saturday our Ladies travelled to Banister Park in the Riversmeet league. The three rink fixture was a very close affair with Chawton Park winning overall by 54 shots to 51 this despite losing two of the three rinks. In this format with two points for each winning rink and four points for the overall win Chawton Park took six points with four to Banister Park. Top rink was the quartet of Angie Knight, Kate Binfield, Flo Ward and Janet Williamson 22-11 winners.
In the Men’s Bramley Chawton again took on Banister in the two rinks Home and two away fixture. Chawton Park were looking to consolidate their position at the top of the league. They did this in emphatic fashion winning both away rinks, one home rink with the sole reversal being by a single shot. With the overall score being 94-61 Chawton Park took nine Points to Banisters one point. Top rink with a 26-13 win was Dom Flannigan, Gary M Johnson, John Blair and Nathan Beeson. Chawton Park’s final fixture is against current second placed Palmerston on the 8th March.
Saturday afternoon saw Chawton Park host (yes you guessed it) Banister Park in a six rink mixed triples match up. The Home team won another close affair by 100 shots to 85 and by four rinks to two. Top rink was Maureen Staite, Alan Pascoe and Derek Allwood 23-16 winners.
On Sunday Chawton Park took on a strong Dolphin side in their latest Wessex League fixture. In a matchup of small margins Chawton Park eventually lost by 58 shots to 66 and by two rinks to one with one rink tied. Although Chawton Park only took three points to Dolphin’s thirteen they still head the Coastal division and will hope to secure the title in their final fixture of the season against East Dorset. Top rink was the away quartet of John Blair, Danny Brown, Reece Graham and Ashley Nethercliffe 19-12 winners.
