A popular and friendly club
Chawton Park, established in 1996, is a popular indoor bowls club located in Alton, Hampshire.
The club offers bowls to players of all ages and abilities allowing you to play as little or often as you like, at a level of your choice. In 2024 the club also introduced a new coloured kit which is popular with members.
The club provides both friendly and competitive games with the social benefits the game offers to all ages.
The club has six full size rinks, an electronic scoreboard, air-conditioned playing area, facilities for disabled bowlers and a fully-licensed bar.
Adult bowls
The club welcomes both experienced players and those new to the game, so if you are trying the game for the first time Chawton Park is the club for you.
Bowls is one of the few sports where women can compete equally against men so many of our competitions are mixed.
From the occasional roll up to intra club leagues which the club thrives upon weekdays throughout the year.
The club also plays a number of friendly and competitive inter club matches in a number of competitions throughout the winter.
Bowls for younger players
The club has a junior section and promotes the game within schools and local clubs to encourage children to give the game a go.
The club has a coaching team which offers dedicated coaching sessions for juniors late on a Wednesday afternoon.
Some of our younger bowlers have now progressed into both the men’s and women sections of the club competing well with their peers.
